Flourish in your Life - Flourish HOME

Flourish in your Home

by Kyree Meagher

Your home should be a place of comfort, love and a relaxing environment and should not be a place where the wall of stress follows you.  You want to unwind and be yourself at home so a NO stress zone should be pinned up on your front door.

Leave any stress you have on your front door step and do not let it enter into your safe, de-stress refuge.

ORGANISE

You may be feeling overwhelmed with how much there is to be done and not enough time to do it in.  But if you organise your time correctly and get your priorities straight, then you will feel less stressed and clearer.  Focus on the tasks that really are important and leave the other rubbish for another time.  Stressing over meaningless things is not worth the heartache.  Remember you want to slowly knock the wall of stress over not add to it.

“I find if I write down a list of what needs to be done I feel less stressed,” Dorothy explains.

“It means I never forget what needs doing and I can see what needs prioritising, it’s not worth stressing over the little things.”

SOOTHE THE SENSES

Humans react with their senses and if you expose your senses with certain smells and sounds you will start to feel calm, relaxed and refreshed.

You need to try taking a hot bath, drinking some herbal tea, take time out to read your back issues of Flourish magazine, or treat yourself and book in to be pampered with a massage or a new hair colour.  These will all help make you feel fantastic.

Mandy Reading is a full time beautician and mother-of-three and she says she plays with her clients' senses so they feel relaxed and less stressed while they are being pampered.

“I will light scented candles like lavender and play soothing and relaxing music while my clients are in the salon,” Mandy says.

“This helps them completely relax and enjoy their experience as well as helping them release any stress and tension by allowing them to escape from their hectic realities.”

Candles and music can also be as effective in your home.  Try it out when you are feeling weighed down by the crazy wall of stress.
